In its narrow sense, religion is a set of beliefs and practices that relate to a supernatural being. In its broader sense, religion is a way to explain our role in the universe. Hopefully this web site will help to inform you about the different types of religion, and help to give you insight into our selves and our place in the universe.
Some of the more “traditional” religions include Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, and Hinduism. Scientology is all over the news these days, with Hollywood stars such as Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, and John Travolta as followers of this religion. Madonna is a devotee of the Jewish tradition known as Kabbalah. These forms of religion are somewhat more familiar as we hear about them in the news every day.
However, there are other forms of worship and traditions that technically are religions and that might have been given a bad name because of misunderstanding or misinformation about them. Wicca and Witchcraft are just two examples of religious beliefs that are not understood by the mainstream public. We hope our articles on these religions will give some good, positive, truthful information about them to our readers.
Religion is a wonderful part of your life. The belief in a higher power can give guidance and meaning to life. Open your mind to the different sets of beliefs that exist in the world and you might just find some new meaning in your life.
