Alex Trebek
Alex Trebek, the host of Jeopardy, was born July 22, 1940 in Sudbury, Ontario Canada. He graduated from the University of Ottawa with a degree in Philosophy.
He joined the Canadian Broadcasting Company and was first recognized in the United States when he hosted the Wizard of Odds. He has been the host of Jeopardy since 1986. Winner of 2 Emmy awards, he also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 1991 he became the only host in TV history at the helm of 3 daily national game shows at once: Jeopardy, Classic Concentration and To Tell The Truth.
Active in educational organizations and charities, Trebek is also the host of the National Geographic Bee in the United States and Canada. He is on the boards of the National Geography Society Education Foundation and the National Advisory Council for the Literary Volunteers of America. He is also active with World Vision.
He owns and manages Creston Farms in central California which breeds, trains and provides state of the art care for thoroughbreds. He is also the owner of a California winery.
He and his wife Jean have two children and live in Studio City, California. He became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1998.
