Alan Cumming
Alan Cumming, was born January 27, 1965 in Aberfeld, Perthahshire, Scotland. He is a graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama class of 1985.
He is a stage, television and screen actor that has been featured on the British TV series Shadow of the Stone in 1986, and the BBC Christmas Special Bernard and the Genie. Cumming was also the star of the Scottish TV Sitcom, The High Life.
Included in his repertoire of talent is writing. He published the novel Tommy's Tale in 2002. He became internationally known after his performance of the charismatic Emcee in the 1998 Broadway revival of Cabaret won him the Tony Award. He most recently has appeared in X2: X-Men United and the Spy Kids Films and has even appeared on the front cover of “Out Magazine”.
The GLADD activist lives in New York City with his pet dog. In June of 2005 he will be honored along with Billy Crystal at the GLADD media awards.
