Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman, was born June 20, 1967 in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Dr. Antony David and Janelle Ann Kidman. The family moved to Australia when she was four. She has both United States and Australian passports. Nicole began study of ballet at an early age and this led to studies at St. Martin's Youth Theatre in Melbourne, Australia.
Her career began in Australian TV with Five Mile Creed. Australian Film credits include BMX Bandits and Bush Christmas. The 1989 movie, Dead Calm gained her notice in the United States. She made her American movie debut in the film Days of Thunder. One of the stars of that film was actor Tom Cruise with whom she became romantically involved. Nicole married Tom Cruise on Christmas Eve 1990 in Telluride, Colorado. During their ten year marriage, they adopted two children Isabella and Connor. The marriage ended in divorce in 2001, and Nicole Kidman is still single.
Her many awards include the Golden Globe both in 1996 for the film To Die For and in 2002 for Moulin Rouge. Ms. Kidman also won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 2003 for the film The Hours. Also in 2003, Nicole Kidman received a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. Known as a dramatic actress, she branched out and is starring with comedy actor Will Farrell in the Summer 2005 release Bewitched.
